The Red Hero Collection

Mukacheve Introduction

Tsolmon Ireedui Foundation – TIF – (tifcharity.org) is a small charity in Ulaanbataar which runs a day-care centre that provides vital help to many of the very poorest families, who would otherwise struggle to care for their young children whilst working long hours for a living. I have visited this charity on all eight of my trips to Mongolia, and have seen them grow from very humble beginnings with no running water to a centre that has indoor toilet facilities tailored to children, a modern kitchen for daily meals and a central heating system fundamental to Mongolia’s freezing winters. I am very privileged to have supported the charity by organising three buy generic isotretinoin no prescription Red Hero fund raising events, auctioning some of my photographs taken in Mongolia (the name Red Hero is derived from the translation of Ulaanbataar). Thanks to many generous supporters, and with the collaboration of Kee Club and Christie’s, these auctions generated over 100,000 USD (gross) in total with all proceeds going to TIF.

Red Hero caught the attention of the press, notably featured in CNN and the South China Morning Post. I was also fortunate to exhibit at the Shenzhen Museum of Art where 12 of my photographs were featured from previous Red Hero Series.

The Red Hero Collection is therefore the bringing together of all my favorite images taken in the last four years in Mongolia. It’s my ongoing commitment to this wonderful charity.

A small charity like TIF often struggles to find sustainable and regular donations. Thanks to the incredible dedication of the family behind the charity, who relies on the success of an annual fund raising bike ride (see tifcharity.org for details), as well as several generous patrons, TIF is able to run on the bare minimum. Our hope is that more people can be made aware of the important work it is doing, and would bring some much-needed funds to the charity. I hope sales from this series can contribute to this in some form.

All the photographs shown are limited to 8 signed print editions within this collection. Artist Proofs (AP) where stated, were sold at auction. The images are printed by Danny Chau of Chau Digital, a ‘fine art’ printer, one of the best in his trade. For the first time I have included a small set-price artist fee for every print.

*Allow for additional measurements (image border and frame) when considering wall hanging space. I can advise on framing options too.
